Cloud On Demand (COD) is looking for an experienced leader to fill the role of Business Unit Manager for AWS (Alliance Lead).

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you be the primary senior contact with AWS and will therefore be tasked with formulating and executing strategic business plans for the unit. Further, the role requires a mix of entrepreneurial-minded and strategic leader who can build and lead an innovative business operating within a fluid environment, focused on the SMB market segment and with aspirations for rapid multi territory expansion.

As the Alliance Lead, you will leverage your deep Cloud Industry knowledge, channel sales experience as well as strong analytical and communication skills to establish COD’s footprint as an AWS distributor. As such, a proven track record of expediting ideas from concept ideation to commercialization within a fast-paced and fluid operating environment is a must.

In your role you will:

• Formulate and drive the AWS Business Unit’s strategic vision, leveraging the wider Cloud On Demand team, the Group as well as your extensive network.

• Formulate and drive the execution of growth strategies for the AWS Business Unit, adeptly marrying the needs of the market, capabilities of the channel, COD’s key strengths and the Vendor’s overall business goals. Your ability to focus on the immediate while also steering towards the envisioned future will set you apart as a strategic leader.

• Play a pivotal role managing key relationships between multiple stakeholders internally and externally, namely Group and strategic stakeholders within AWS as well as partners. Your ability to network and navigate complex stakeholder dynamics will earn you trust and build a base of mutually beneficial relationships.

• Demonstrate an ability to manage a team of diverse and highly capable, forward-thinking individuals. You will therefore lead and grow a team of dynamic leaders responsible for driving compelling strategies and AWS programs that are focused on entrenching COD as a market leader.

• Keep abreast with currents market and AWS developments, trends and the competitor landscape to share market insights internally as well as make sure that strategies formulated are relevant. Your extensive range of reading coupled with an innate ability to ‘connect the dots’ will prove beneficial as the unit and business navigates constant change.

• Identify, test, design and roll out new opportunities within the AWS space. Your creative, out-of-the-box thinking coupled with innate entrepreneurial flair will come to the fore.

Requirements:

• 5+ years in strategic leadership.

• 5+ years working in the Cloud space.

• Minimum tertiary qualification; Bachelors.

• Demonstrated ability to manage Vendor relationships and engage effectively at a C- suite level.

• Able to think strategically, with a strong problem-solving capability.

• Entrepreneurial flair to start and grow new businesses.

• Ability to enable and grow your team.

• Own reliable transport.

• Able to periodically travel internationally.
